22nd Business Training Session Successfully Completed in Ijevan, Tavush

IJEVAN, Armenia – This November, 2017 the American University of Armenia (AUA) Turpanjian Rural Development Program (TRDP) Ijevan office successfully conducted its 22nd entrepreneurship training session in Tavush region. Fourteen participants, 8 of which are beneficiaries of the entrepreneurship in healthcare program, came from various communities of Tavush, Kotayk, and Ararat regions to complete the training and present their business plans prepared with the knowledge and skills they acquired with the training and support of the local TRDP staff.

The business plans presented are currently under review, and if approved the beneficiaries will receive financial support (a business loan with a 6% annual interest rate) from a program partner bank to turn their business idea into reality and contribute to the development of their own communities.

Business ideas included a bed & breakfast, chicken farm, furniture workshop, medical centers, pharmacy, child rehabilitation center and much more, to be opened in the communities of Noyemberyan, Berd, Abovyan, Artashat, Getahovit, the border community of Nerkin Karmiraghbyur, and many others. The businesses would result in more than 40 jobs created in rural areas of Armenia.
